Jarrad Butler will be the man to take David Pocock’s openside jersey when the Brumbies face the Waratahs on Saturday night.

Butler will return from a medial ligament injury to take his place in the side for the first time since the Brumbies clash with the Force three weeks ago.

The 24-year-old will be joined by Jordan Smiler in the back row, with the latter replacing Ita Vaea, who was forced to call time on his rugby career this week.

Former Sevens player Michael Wells comes onto the bench, hoping to get more than the limited minutes he received in South Africa.

Wells came on for just a handful of minutes before a yellow card to Josh Mann-Rea forced a forwards reshuffle, with Wells the casualty in that case.
