Australian international winger Adam Ashley-Cooper grabbed a sensational hat-trick to help steer French Top 14 side Bordeaux to a 48-20 mauling of rock-bottom Oyonnax on Saturday.

Bordeaux ran in seven tries in total in front of 22,000 fans at their Stade Chaban-Delmas home as they moved into fourth spot in the table and well-placed for the end of season play-offs.

The 31-year-old Ashley-Cooper scored his first two tries in the space of four first-half minutes and added his third of the afternoon on 65 minutes.

The Wallaby star had not scored a Top 14 try for Bordeaux before Saturday in what was his sixth league appearance for the club.

Capped Wallabies Jesse Mogg and Nic White featured in Montpellier’s match against Castres.

Drew Mitchell will line up on the wing  for Toulon on Monday morning (AEDT) ,the sole Wallaby in the side.
