Where to meet your rugby heroes this weekend

Australian Rugby Union and Australia’s five FxPro Super Rugby Franchises are joining forces to give fans across the country a chance to meet their Rugby heroes.

This Saturday, 18 February, players of all ages – juniors and seniors – will have the chance to sign up with a local club and meet their favourite FxPro Super Rugby and Qantas Wallabies stars as part of the inaugural National Registration Day.

NSW

In NSW the HSBC Waratahs will be out and about at the Sydney Football Stadium between 10:30am and 12:30pm. Fans will have the chance to check out the dressing rooms, meet their HSBC Waratahs heroes, get autographs and photos with their favourite players and take part in skills sessions. They’ll also be able to get all the information they need on the up-coming Rugby season and even sign up to play in 2012.

It will be a great day with those attending given the opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to be a Rugby player with everyone entering the stadium via the player’s tunnel and taking part in the activities on the field of play. There’ll also be loads of giveaways from the HSBC Waratahs and Qantas Wallabies as well as the chance to become a HSBC Waratahs member, win a Volvo C70, score themselves Qantas Wallabies Test match tickets and even meet Tah Man and Wally.

In the Nation’s capital the University of Canberra Brumbies will be signing autographs and meeting fans at Brumbies HQ, Austin Street, Griffith between 12pm and 2pm. Fans and players of all ages will have the chance to meet their University of Canberra Brumbies heroes, sign up for the 2012 season, participate in skills and drills and meet Brumby Jack.

There’ll also be a number of fun activities that fans of all ages can participate in plus they’ll be the chance to win some great prizes and giveaways throughout the day.

VIC

Junior Rugby Clubs throughout Victoria will meet at Gosch’s Paddock, just to the left of AAMI Park, for National Registration Day on Saturday. As well as having the chance to meet some of the members of the RaboDirect Melbourne Rebels , junior clubs will have tents set up and will be registering players for the 2012 season between 4pm and 6pm.

All junior players that register on Saturday will receive free ticket to the Rebels v Crusaders game (when accompanied by an adult), an ARU Show Bag, Rebels Show Bag and a FREE RaboDirect Rebels Junior Supporter Membership!

QLD

The St.George Queensland Reds will also be putting on a show this Saturday between 11am and 2pm at Ballymore. Parking and Entry to the event is free and provides the perfect opportunity for fans to meet the entire 2012 Squad before the FxPro Super Rugby season kicks-off.

There’ll be the chance to grab autographs and photos, listen to live player interviews, get your face painted, enjoy the St.George Jumping Castle and photo booth, get your photo with the FxPro Super Rugby Trophy and of course sign up with a club for the 2012 season.

In Western Australia clubs across the state will be opening their doors to give players, coaches, referees and volunteers a chance to get all the information they need to be involved in Rugby in 2012. As part of National Registration Day a number of the Emirates Western Force players will also be attending the Wanneroo, Perth Bayswater, North Coast, Cottesloe and Rockingham registration sessions.
