Rugby fans across the country have been deliberating on which players to include in their Super Rugby Fantasy teams after the 2013 Super Rugby tournament kicked off last weekend.

With the opening round of this year’s tournament featuring only the Australian conference teams, Rugby fans may have found selecting their Fantasy team line-up more of a challenge.

Asked which Australian Super Rugby franchise would feature most in their Super Rugby Fantasy team, the majority of the response was the Queensland Reds.

32% of fans voted in favour of the Reds to feature most in their 2013 Super Rugby Fantasy Teams.

25% said players from the NSW Waratahs would feature most in their Super Rugby Fantasy team, closely followed by the ACT Brumbies on 23%, the Melbourne Rebels on 13% and the Western Force on 6%.

Despite a run of injuries to their star players, including Will Genia and captain, James Horwill, the 2011 Super Rugby Champions are still deemed to be full of Super Rugby Fantasy material according to fans.

With the likes of the Qantas Wallabies’ Mike Harris and Digby Ioane, known to add the points to the board, plus an influx of budding stars including Nick Frisby, Jono Lance and Chris F’Sautia the Reds offer a variety of choice for fans’ Super Rugby Fantasy teams.

The Queensland Reds also finished first in last week’s rugby.com.au poll as the team fans thought would top the Australian Super Rugby conference this year.

The 2013 tournament steps up a gear as the New Zealand and South African teams kick off their Super Rugby campaigns in round 2 this weekend. The NSW Waratahs will also be added to mix following a first round bye.

As the Western Force get set to take on Super Rugby newcomers, the Kings, we’re asking fans which team they think will finish top of the South African Super Rugby Conference in 2013?
