Australian Rugby fans will have two opportunities to see the Qantas Wallabies on home soil this winter before they head to the 2015 Rugby World Cup, with tickets on sale from the start of April.
With the 2015 Rugby World Cup meaning a truncated Rugby Championship, the Tests against South Africa and New Zealand will be the only opportunities for fans to see their heroes such as Israel Folau, James Slipper and Matt Toomua in the green and gold on Australian shores this year.
The Qantas Wallabies play South Africa at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday, 18 July before taking on the might of New Zealand at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on Saturday, 8 August - Head Coach Michael Cheika’s first two home Tests at the helm since taking the reins last spring.
Qantas Wallabies Head Coach Michael Cheika said: “There is a clear purpose developing in the Qantas Wallabies squad since the end of the Spring Tour. We know what we need to do and we want to ensure we play a style of Rugby that our country can be proud of. There is no better tournament to see that in action, than in the Rugby Championship.
“With only two matches on home soil leading into the 2015 Rugby World Cup, it is important for our team to really bond with our fans through them loving the way we play and seeing that their team will never take a backward step.
“We want to make sure all of our Qantas Wallabies fans enjoying being a part of it, that's what it's about."

• All remaining tickets for the games will go on sale to the public from Thursday, 11 June at 9am AEST.
Ticket prices for the fixture against New Zealand at ANZ Stadium in Sydney are available from $89 (adults) / $45 (juniors) or $200 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) via Ticketek. For the Test against South Africa at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, tickets are available from $69 (adults) / $34 (juniors) or $138 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) via Ticketek. Tickets for all Tests include public transport.
The Bledisloe Cup Festival will return to Sydney in the week leading up to the trans-Tasman clash with Bledisloe Bay set to take place at Darling Harbour. In addition, there will be a Bledisloe Cup Golf Day and a host of other activities to be announced closer to the date.
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase encouraged all rugby fans to get to Sydney for the Bledisloe Cup match.
“The Bledisloe Cup is one of the most coveted trophies in Australian sport, and I look forward to seeing a packed house at ANZ Stadium on 8 August to watch the Qantas Wallabies begin their campaign to finally win it back. The event is part of a packed sporting calendar for NSW in 2015, and attracts thousands of interstate and overseas visitors each year who not only enjoy the event and coming to Sydney, but also make a valuable contribution to the local visitor economy,” she said.
Tourism and Events Queensland CEO, Leanne Coddington, said Brisbane was ready to welcome fans for the match on July 18.
“The Australia vs South Africa test match is a highlight on our It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar which promotes the perfect union of world-class events and destinations,” Ms Coddington said.
“We look forward to welcoming fans to Suncorp Stadium and encourage visitors travelling for the match to extend their stay, explore Brisbane and the surrounding regions, and enjoy more of the great visitor experiences on offer in Queensland.”
In 2014, the Tests against the All Blacks and Springboks were classic encounters. A gripping 12-12 draw against New Zealand in Sydney was followed by a last-gasp 29-28 defeat to the visitors in Brisbane. Rob Horne’s late try against the South Africans sealed a memorable 24-23 victory for the Qantas Wallabies in Perth.
Also returning in 2015 is Qantas Wallabies fan group, The Gold Brigade. Following last year’s success which saw over 2,000 fans sat together in designated supporter bays showcasing their passion for the national team, The Gold Brigade will light up both Sydney and Brisbane Tests.
