The Wallabies have the recent wood over the Welsh but victories haven’t come easy for Australia in that time.

All bar one of their clashes since Wales’ last win in 2008 have been decided by single figure margins and of those many have been one in the dying minutes.

Wallabies lock Dean Mumm said past history would not factor into their preparation for Saturday’s Pool A top-spot decider and they would be wary of a Welsh side with a few days’ extra rest heading into the game.

”What we do is most relevant to how we go into the game,” he said.

“We know we’ve got to continue to improve what we do.

“This weekend is an early finals game and the way we go about it, It’s a very big element and we take this game very seriously going forward.

“So the way we improve, the way we approach, the way we prepare for it is very important.”

Take a look at exactly how close the past encounters between Australia and Wales have been.
