The Queensland Reds produced another error-strewn performance as they slumped to a third consecutive Investec Super 14 loss, this time at the hands of the Stormers, 34-16, at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.

The impressive Stormers performance belied their bottom of the table position as they stretched the Reds time and again on the way to posting a bonus point victory away from home.

However it was a case of “what could have been” for the Reds as they led 16-13 midway through the second half, but the Stormers ran in three tries, to Luke Watson, Bolla Conradie and Tonderai Chavhanga, in a 21-point blitz to steal the points.

Stormers flyhalf Peter Grant scored 19 points, including a try and a perfect six from six with the boot.

Earlier tries to Wallabies fullback Chris Latham, No.8 Leroy Houston and two Berrick Barnes drop goals had edged the Reds in front, but they were unable to hold a rampant Stormers outfit at bay.

Stormers 34 (Peter Grant, Luke Watson, Bolla Conradie, Tonderai Chavhanga tries; Grant 3 cons, 2 pens) defeated Reds 16 (Chris Latham, Leroy Houston tries; Berrick Barnes 2 dgs)
