Qantas Wallabies v England: Don't miss this one!

14 November, 2008

It’s one of the biggest matches of the Qantas Wallabies year and all eyes will be on London come 1.30am Sunday morning (AEDT) when the Men of Gold take on our World Cup nemesis, England.

All Men of Gold fans, and the Men of Gold themselves, will be desperate to avenge the Wallabies early exit from the World Cup in Marseille last October and if you’re not lucky enough to be at the game – we wish ! – then tune in to Channel Ten at 1am across Australia on Sunday morning for all the action.

A win for Robbie Deans’ team will go a long way to erasing those painful memories from last year and also setting the Men of Gold up for a successful end to their Spring Tour.

For all the latest on the huge Test, including both team line ups, check out our comprehensive Match Preview and if you want to check broadcast details for the Test – and the rest of the Spring Tour - click here. This will be one well worth staying up for !

Also in this week’s Get Onside there’s exciting news of a call to return to traditional tours by European Nations in the June window, which would add some real spark to the mid-season domestic Test programme.

Hugh “Madness” McMeniman, the giant Wallabies lock/flanker, shows his softer side in our exclusive Twenty Questions and there’s also news of a fascinating exhibition on the 1908 “Gold Medal Wallabies’ at the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham entitled The First Wallabies – Tourists and Olympians.

And to see the latest (and greatest!) video reports from our very own correspondents on tour with the Men of Gold – “Striding” Stirling Mortlock and “Full Noise” Benn Robinson - just go to your home of all things Wallabies – www.rugby.com.au

Enjoy the game on the weekend and cheer loud. The Wallabies might just hear you in Twickenham !

Yours in Rugby,

Men of Gold
