Wallaroos Team for Second Test

Ruan Sims, called into NZ Tour

Ruan Sims, called into NZ Tour

Friday, 19 October 2007

The Wallaroos have today named their team to play New Zealand’s Black Ferns in the second and final Test for the Laurie O'Reilly Memorial Trophy in Wellington tomorrow, (Saturday).

Coach Steve Hamson has made only one change to the side which put up a gallant showing in their 21-10 defeat to the world champions in the first Test in Wanganui on Tuesday.

Australia’s lone try-scorer in that match, Tegan French, has suffered a knee injury and will be replaced by NSW’s Ruan Sims, who joined the squad after flying in from Sydney yesterday.

Sims was one of the stand-out performers of the Wallaroos World Cup campaign last year, with the winger bagging four tries in five games.

The only other change to the starting XV is vice-captain Tricia Brown moving onto the wing, while Lisa Fiaola returns to outside centre.

Cheryl Soon will again captain the side.

Kick off is at 2.30pm (11:30am EST).
