Lions (South Africa)

The Lions have changed their name from the Cats and now sport a red jersey with a white strip. The team is based on the high veldt, in South Africa's most populated city, Johannesburg, and form their team with players from Transvaal, Free State Cheetahs, Northern Free State and the Northern Cape.

Head coach Eugene Eloff will be making his debut as a Super 14 coach this season and Andre Pretorius will play his 50th Super 14 game.
