Biography

Tim Metcher had a productive first season which saw him make his Super Rugby debut among two appearances for his new club. Metcher moved to Melbourne and joined the Rebels from Southern Districts in Sydney's Shute Shield after two consecutive seasons where he was named in that competition's team of the year, making his Super Rugby debut against the Waratahs in Round 11 at ANZ Stadium. Born in Sydney's beachside suburb of Maroubra but raised in Coffs Harbour, Metcher represented Australia U20 at the 2011 Junior World Rugby Championships alongside fellow Rebels Luke Jones and Colby Fainga'a and played for both Combined NSW & QLD Country and the Force against the touring British & Irish Lions in 2013. The second-year tighthead prop represents Moorabbin in the Melbourne's Dewar Shield and after being part of the NSW Country Eagles squad for the inaugural National Rugby Championship, suited up for the Melbourne Rising in 2015.
