One of the original NRC stars, ‘Super Sefa’ Naivalu became the first uncapped Dewar Shield player to sign for the Melbourne Rebels, all after starring for Box Hill in his first season in Melbourne, and seemingly scoring tries for fun in the 2014 NRC.

Predominantly a centre, Naivalu played mostly off the wing in his debut season of Super Rugby in 2015, scoring five tries in 13 games. But just as his star was seriously rising, a leg injury suffered on his first South African tour ruled Naivalu out of the 2015 NRC. He’s since extended his Rebels contract to the end of 2017.
