Samantha Treherne was born into a family that is a household name at the Footscray Rugby Union Club, in Victoria. However never resting on her laurels, Samantha’s sheer determination and commitment saw her selected for Victorian teams in both sevens and 15s – even captaining the Victorian side in 2015 at the age of 21. Moving to QLD where she linked up with the iconic Sunnybank Rugby Club whilst also working in administration, Samantha has continued to grow as a player. Fun fact: her favourite food is doughnuts.
In her first year playing for QLD at the Buildcorp Women’s Nationals, Treherne’s talent saw her called into the Wallaroos New Zealand tour squad after having been previously included in the Wallaroos training squad in prior years.
Treherne was selected to represent Australia at the International Women's Rugby Series in New Zealand.
