2010 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Pat McCutcheon re-joined the Sevens program in August 2015, scoring six tries in four tournaments before earning a call-up to the Australian squad for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

A loose forward by trade in the XVs version of the game, McCutcheon played 37 times for the New South Wales Waratahs in Super Rugby.
