Waratahs halfback Matt Lucas booted 13 points to help Manly topple defending champions Norths 23-18 in the top-of-the-table clash.

Angus Taavao started in the front row for Norths, while Irae Simone and Michael Wells were both on the bench, with backrower Wells twinging his hamstring.

Nick Phipps crossed for a try for Sydney Uni, in a thrilling 33-29 win over Warringah while NSW prop Paddy Ryan came off the bench for the students.

Waratahs youngster Harry Jones had a double, with NSW backrower Maclean Jones also crossing, but it wasn’t enough to steal the win.

Andrew Kellaway made a successful return from injury, playing half an a hour for Randwick on the wing in their draw against Eastwood, with Reece Robinson showing some pace on the opposite edge for the Wicks, while squad flyhalf Andrew Deegan, booted nine points for the game.

No. 8 Jed Holloway came off the bench for Southern Districts in their 34-27 win over West Harbour.
