Wallabies abroad: Genia and Ashley-Cooper to clash in France

While the Wallabies kick off their spring tour this weekend, there’ll be plenty of other Aussies in action across the globe.

Long-time Test teammates Adam Ashley-Cooper and Will Genia will face off when Bordeaux takes on Stade Francais in the Top 14.

Stade refused to release Genia to the Wallabies for their opening Test against Wales, which falls outside the international Test window, though the scrumhalf is likely to be back in camp next week.

Luke Jones made his Bordeaux debut last weekend. Photo: AFPLuke Jones will start at lock for Bordeaux in the match, with his former Rebels teammate Hugh Pyle coming off the bench for Stade Francais.

Sitaleki Timani will start in the second row for Clermont in his side’s clash against Grenoble this weekend.

Capped Wallabies hooker Nathan Charles will come off the bench for the competition leaders, while Peter Kimlin will play blindside flanker for 13th-placed Grenoble.

Jesse Mogg will be on the wing and Joe Tomane will start at inside centre for the second week in a row when Montpellier meets Racing 92.

Scrumhalf Nic White will come off the bench for the side.

ANGLO-WELSH CUP

Greg Holmes will start for Exeter against Harlequins, though his former Reds teammate James Horwill will not feature for the ‘Quins.

The Japanese Top League has no fixtures scheduled until after the end of year tours, with the competition to resume on the first weekend of December.

Barbarians vs South Africa

A handful of capped Wallabies are currently in London, ahead of the Barbarians clash against South Africa a London's Wembley Stadium.

Three 2016 Wallabies, Taqele Naiyaravoro, Luke Morahan and , will feature in the 23, with Naiyaravoro starting on the wing and Morahan and Carter coming off the bench.

Props Paddy Ryan and Toby Smith are among the squad as well, with the Waratahs front rower in the run-on team for the Baabaas and Smith on the pine.

Melbourne's Nic Stirzaker and Queensland's Andrew Ready are also part of the squad, with the duo set to play their first Barbarians match.
