Robinson to fly high with Eagles

by Marty Cambridge

Former NRL star and Waratahs outside back Reece Robinson will line up for the NSW Country Eagles in the third instalment of the NRC, which kicks off in just under two weeks.

Robinson made his Waratahs debut this season playing the majority of games and scoring five tries and finished off his rugby season playing for Randwick, who fall under the Country Eagles' zone of clubs.

The squad features 10 NSW Waratahs players and five Wallabies and will be coached by Darren Coleman.

“We are really excited with the squad we have put together, Darren and the coaching staff have done a great job and all of us are really looking forward to that first game in less than 2 weeks at Sydney University,” Eagles CEO Peter Playford said.

A major absence for the Eagles is that of last year's player of the year, Jono Lance, whose move to the Force has forced an NRC change, with Randwick's Andrew Deegan likely to step up in his place.

The Eagles will open their account against two-time champions Brisbane City on August 27 at Sydney Uni.
