Rebels back Mike Harris has been dealt an unlucky blow on the eve of a Wallabies recall, with a hamstring injury in the match against the Force.

Harris pulled his hamstring setting up a Reece Hodge try in the 12th minute and went straight to the bench.

The injury comes just days after Harris was named in Michael Cheika's 39-man Wallabies squad for the upcoming June Test series.

Harris returned to the Rebels team three weeks ago, after nearly three months out with a quad injury.

The utility hasn't donned a Wallabies jersey since 2013 and it looks like his return will have to wait a little longer
