The inaugural Samsung Snapshot Photographic Competition has proved a hit with fans with over 350 entries depicting all levels of Rugby.
Part of the inaugural Bledisloe Cup Festival the Competition asked fans to capture photos from any junior or senior club Rugby game on Friday 10, Saturday 11 or Sunday 12 August.
Fans could use any type of camera with the only criteria being that the image needed to capture the essence of Rugby.
Up for grabs was the chance to be ARU’s Official online and social media photographer at the Bledisloe Cup Test on Saturday 18 August at ANZ Stadium.
The winner also receives two Gold tickets to the Sydney Bledisloe Cup Test and a Samsung NX20 SMART Camera (RRP $999) to shoot all the action between the Qantas Wallabies and All Blacks on Saturday night.
After narrowing more than 350 entries down to 12, the panel of expert Getty Image photographers selected Tony Sergo’s shot of a junior team huddle as the winning photograph.
Each of the judges independently nominated Tony’s shot as the winning entry claiming it was a great angle and perspective that showed strong colours, nice wide lens, good exposure and expressions on the kid’s faces giving you a feeling of being part of a big team talk at half time or before the match starts.
The remaining entrants in the top 12 received a WB150F Samsung SMART Camera valued at $249.
