Australian Rugby Union is delighted to announce that all available tickets for the Bledisloe Cup showdown between the Qantas Wallabies and the All Blacks at Suncorp Stadium on 27 August have sold out this morning.
After going on public sale at 9am – previous windows to purchase were available to member groups and other Rugby stakeholders – the supply of tickets was exhausted within two hours.
The Castrol Edge Tri Nations match involving the Qantas Wallabies and their trans-Tasman rivals will also be the final Test for both countries before the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Supporters are urged to continue monitoring the ARU and Ticketek websites for any small allocations to the Bledisloe Cup Test that might be returned to the market in the next few weeks.
However, with the Test still more than five weeks away, ARU is guaranteed a capacity crowd of more than 52,000 for the Bledisloe Cup clash.
“It’s wonderful to see the passion with which Queenslanders have embraced their Rugby this year,” said ARU Managing Director and CEO John O’Neill.
“The Reds had a magnificent season, culminating in their Super Rugby final win over the Crusaders in Brisbane, and throughout the campaign their fans got behind them in stunning fashion.
“Average crowds for Reds matches this season topped 30,000 for the first time, and we are seeing that same appetite for top-level Rugby mirrored in the rush for Bledisloe Cup tickets today.
“To sit here almost a month and a half out from the Test and say we are guaranteed a capacity crowd is hugely exciting for the game across Australia.”
ARU also went to market this morning with tickets to the Castrol Edge Rugby match between the Australian Barbarians and Canada to be played at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast on Friday, August 26.
Tickets to the game start at $10 for Juniors.
