Week Four of the 2015 Junior Gold Cup saw teams from both age groups put their best foot forward in a bid to earn a spot in the knockout stages of the competition, which are set to begin next week.

Sitting at the top of their pools so far in the Under 15s division are Victoria, ACT, Brisbane Purple and Gold Coast, while the Under 17s saw Sydney North Harbour, ACT, Ipswich and Logan all move to the top of the table.

Under 15s

Victoria continued to showcase their dominance in the Under 15s tournament, notching up three wins against Central Coast (20-27), Sydney North Harbour (22-23) and Western NSW (22-25) to top Pool A.

In Pool B, the ACT remain on 15 competition points, with three wins on the trot. The pick of the trio was a 34-5 victory over Sydney North Harbour on Tuesday night.

Brisbane Purple owned Pool C, thanks to four consecutive wins, including a 17-10 victory against North Queensland and a 29-19 win over Darling Downs last Sunday.

Pool D saw Gold Coast claim top honors, following four straight wins in the earlier rounds before enjoying a bye over the weekend to firm their position in the competition.

Under 17s

In the Under 17s, Sydney North Harbour nudged Sydney West by a point to secure Pool A honors and delivered a strong performance in Week Four to hold heavyweights Victoria to a 12-12 draw.

Friendly rivals, Sydney South Harbour, found themselves at the business end of Pool B off the back of 50-5 victory over South Australia but it was ACT that claimed pole position with three successive bonus point wins.

Newcomers, Ipswich and Logan have taken the competition by surprise with both teams claiming the number one spot in their respective pools, following consistent performances in their first showing at the Junior Gold Cup.

Ipswich finished the regular rounds with 15 points and are likely to secure a finals birth following a 12-12 draw with Brisbane Pink and a 66-0 win over North Queensland to top Pool C.

Logan was equally impressive, dominating Pool D off the back of an impressive 24-7 win over Brisbane Orange on the weekend, placing them eight points ahead of their nearest rival.

This weekend will see teams complete their final regular competition fixtures, with two conference finals for each age group to follow next week. For more info on the Junior Gold Cup, including all the latest results and fixtures click here.
