The Junior Gold Cup rounds have now concluded with the Under 15s and Under 17s age groups with Victoria and Western Australia returning for their second year of semi-final action.

The southern and northern conference finals will take place in Brisbane and Canberra respectively.

Western Australia will travel to Ballymore in both age groups to take on Brisbane Pink as the Victorian sides travel north to Brumbies HQ to meet the ACT.

In 2014 Victoria was the Under 15s Champions and Western Australia the Under 17s.

ARU General Manager Pathways and Performance, Ben Whitaker wished well to all teams competing in the finals.

“It has been a fantastic Junior Gold Cup season to date and I know the eight teams competing in the upcoming finals will do their teams and regions proud with their performances.

“To see Western Australia and Victoria compete in the semi-finals for the second year in a row is a credit to the coaching and development in those two states and we congratulate them accordingly.

“I wish all team’s competing the best of luck and look forward to seeing the already high standard of Rugby from these sides improve of the coming weeks.”

Victoria will take confidence out of their results in week five with both age groups defeating Illawarra in some clinical displays of attacking Rugby.

In the Queensland derbies Brisbane Pink defeated Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Purple in both age groups to top Pool C.

In their tour of Queensland the Western Australian sides were too strong for their Queensland rivals, undefeated in all games. The Gold Coast created chances in the Under 17s and were able to hold on for a 10-10 draw to even out their season.
