Stat's amazing: Samu Kerevi

by Staff Writer

The Queensland Reds disappointing season comes to an end on Saturday when they play the NSW Waratahs at Allianz Stadium. However, Samu Kerevi has been one of the most consistent players for Queensland in 2015, and the stats prove it!

Samu Kerevi has played 13 of his 17 career Super Rugby games in 2015, and at the age of just 21 is a player to watch in the future!

Tries/Tackle Busts

The Reds have opted to use Kerevi at both inside and outside centre this season with his influence on the game strong in both positions. Kerevi is ranked sixth in Super Rugby for tackle busts with 50 to his name, at average of just under 4 per game! To go with his powerful running, the 108kg centre has crossed for six tries in 2015!

Samu’s recent move to inside centre has reaped rewards for the Reds of late, with Kerevi getting more involved in the play and becoming a more damaging ball-carrier. That highlighted by his 14 linebreaks in 2015 to go well with his 18 offloads!

Runs/Run Metres

It’s hard to imagine the Reds season without the powerful running of Samu Kerevi! Kerevi is ranked sixth in the competition for runs with 134, and gains an average 84.8 metres per game! His powerful running has been likened to incumbent Wallabies outside centre Tevita Kuridrani, and with Tevita just 23 years of age and Samu 21, there’s a big future for both these players!

Samu Kerevi has enjoyed a breakout season with 2015, and you can expect Michael Cheika has been keeping a close eye on him….
