Killingworth joins Aussie Sevens program; Kingston signs training contract

The Qantas Australian Men's Sevens program has announced the signing of Boyd Killingworth.

A flanker in the XVs form of the game, the 23-year-old Sydneysider impressed for the North Harbour Rays in the 2015 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship, starting every games of the team.

Killingworth represented New South Wales in the National Sevens Championship in March this year.

Former NSW Waratahs and Melbourne Rebels full-back Tom Kingston has also joined the Men's Sevens program on a training basis. The 24-year-old played nine times for the Sydney Stars in the most recent Buildcorp National Rugby Championship.

Meanwhile, the Australian Rugby Union confirmed the departure of outside back Shannon Walker from the national Sevens program. Walker won 15 Sevens World Series caps since making his debut in Hong Kong in March 2012, scoring 39 tries.

Interim national Men's Sevens Head Coach Scott Bowen will announce the 12-man squad he will be taking to the opening round of the 2015-16 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai on Friday. Both Killingworth and Kingston will be available for selection.
