TryRugby Program Levels
TryRugby offers three different program levels - TryRugby, TryRugby Plus and TryRugby Play.
Individual centres may offer one, two or three of these program levels, so make sure you check the program details for your nearest TryRugby Centre
1. TryRugby. 5-8 years
For younger girls and boys but open to all ages up to 16, TryRugby is the perfect introduction to Rugby skills. It focuses on fundamental motor skills development, individually and in a group, as well as on playing Walla Rugby, which does not involve tackling.
2. TryRugby Plus. 9-16 years
For older children, TryRugby Plus continues the theme of free-flowing running and passing Rugby action. However, most importantly it introduces the young player to the contact nature of the game. The Rugby elements for the modified games of Mini, Midi and U19 are introduced to appropriate age groups.
3. TryRugby Play. 5-16 years
This new program option primarily involves playing rugby in a team-based competition (with some time spent on skills), but in a format based on the existing TryRugby model (same time, same location, short session duration, etc). It caters for all age groups and is more suited to players who have some Rugby and/or ball sports experience.
