Seven key functions

Volunteers the life blood of all Rugby Clubs! No Club can function without the help of good volunteers. The management of volunteers is critical in nurturing the club's most valuable asset - your volunteers!

It is important that in managing volunteers the key functions of volunteer management are addressed by the Club.

The seven (7) key functions of volunteer management are:
  1. Planning
  2. Recruitment
  3. Selection and screening
  4. Orientation
  5. Training and development
  6. Recognition and performance appraisal
  7. Retention and replacement

Although these functions are numbered (1 to 7), it is important to note that volunteer management does not have a start and end point. Rather, it is a cyclical and ongoing process.
