Registration

The process of Registration, Insurance and MyRugbyAdmin are interlinked.

All Participants (Players, Coaches, Match Officials, Club Volunteers/Officials, etc) must be registered with the ARU in order to obtain coverage under the ARU National Insurance Scheme.

The following is an outline of the essential requirements of ARU registration:

1. A Participant (or their parent/guardian, if under 18 years of age) must register with the ARU on the prescribed ARU Membership Form (either hardcopy or via MRA online renewal) and agree to accept and abide by all of the terms and conditions outlined in the prescribed ARU Membership Form.

2. Players must be registered (as above item 1) prior to participation in Rugby, including before playing any match, trials or training. Coaches, Match Officials, Club Volunteers/Officials, Team Management etc. must be registered (as above item 1) on acceptance of a position or appointment.

3. The Participants registration information from the prescribed ARU Membership Form must be entered into the MyRugbyAdmin database by the elected Club/Association registrar.

4. No Participant should be entered or renewed on MRA unless they have registered (as above item 1). A Participant who is not registered is not insured.

Registration Deadlines

Registration deadlines are the responsibility of Competition Manager &/or State/Territory Union and should be outlined in local Competition Rules.

For the purpose of attaining participation figures, the ARU will set a deadline for when MyRugbyAdmin registration information is to be finalised. Each State/Territory Union will be advised of registration deadline annually.

Players Transfers (Domestic - Within Australia)

There may be practical reasons for players to change clubs. For example, players may trial with one club but end up playing for another in the actual competition or change clubs and unions due to relocation of work.

It is a directive from the Australian Rugby Union, that any player wishing to transfer between unions/zones must complete the attached Domestic Clearance form (below) prior to registering with a new union. All clubs, players, affiliate bodies and relevant staff should be made aware of this directive.

This will greatly assist in the tracking of players within Australia, along with preventing suspended players from simply switching unions to continue playing.

Process - example:

1. A Randwick player wishes to play in Perth.
2. The player completes the Domestic Transfer form
3. Randwick signs the form, which is verification that he is not "under suspension"
4. Randwick/player sends the form to NSWRU (governing union)
5. NSWRU signs the form and forwards a copy to the player along with a copy to the 'New' Union.

Club to Club transfers - Please note that this will not effect club to club transfers within a Union, as these will still be governed by local competition rules.

For more information contact your local Competition Manager or State/Territory Union.
