Test Week Opportunites

A wide range of activities were conducted during the week leading into the Test match including Qantas Wallabies Train & Play Day, School Session, Level 3 Coaches session with Robbie Deans, CCC School 1st XV Coaches session with Robbie Deans, Junior Club Training Visit and the EdRugby Values Forum.

Train and Play: Fourteen of Victorian rugbys junior clubs provided 5 players from ages 6 to 14 to attend the session. The following clubs were represented: Maroondah, Eltham, Power House, Harlequin, Wyndham City, Boroondara, Endeavour Hills, Moorabbin, Box Hill, Northern, Southern Districts, Geelong, Footscray and Melbourne.

School Session: The following schools were invited to attend the closed Qantas Wallabies training session: Brighton Grammar School, Carey Grammar School, Geelong Grammar School, Haileybury College, Marcellin College, St Kevin;s College, Scotch College and Xavier College.  In addition, each school selected one player to participate in the training session!

Level 3 Coaches Session: 20 level 3 coaches were invited in to attend the closed Qantas Wallabies training session on Tuesday 10th June including a special Q & A with the Austrailan coaches Robbie Deans and Jim Williams.

Junior Club Training Visit: Harlequins Rugby Club won the opportunity to have two of the Qantas Wallabies, Phil Waugh and Richard Brown, attend their junior training evening. 

 EdRugby Values Forum: hosted by Melbourne Grammar school with 250 students and teachers joining Qantas Wallabies Nathan Sharpe & Cameron Shepherd.

  

Test Match Opportunities 

Junior Wallaby: Eltham Under 10, Meredith Wykes, featured as the Junior Wallaby.  Meredith won the opportunity to enter the field of play and place the match ball on half way line prior to the teams entry to the field. 

Flag Bearer:  Andy  Brown and Blake Davis, most dedicated CR VRU U16’s, won the opportunity to enter the field of play carrying the Team National flags to stand next to the Team Captains for the National Anthems.

Guard of Honour:  Moorabbin & Footscray Junior teams act as Guard of HonourThe players from each team formed a guard of honour for both the Qantas Wallabies & Ireland.

Walla and Mini Matches: Two teams played in Walla and Mini matches prior to the Test match. The game of Walla was played between Eltham Jnrs & Southern Districts Jnrs, and the game of Mini will be played by Boroondara Jnrs & Maroondah Jnrs.

Ball Boys: Nicholas Stevens, Nicholas Marumaru, Michael Kinch, Jai Wambeek and Hayden Whitelaw
