NSW Rewards Program Participants

Test Week Opportunites June 22nd - June 28th

A wide range of activities were conducted during the week leading into the French Test match including the Qantas Wallabies Fan Day, CCC School 1st XV Coaches session with Robbie Deans, Junior Club Training Visit, Primary School Visit, and the EdRugby Values Forum.

Fan Day: Around 1000 junior players and their Mums and Dads turned up for the Qantas Wallabies Fan Day at North Sydney Oval # 2 prior to the Australia A team match agianst Tonga. The whole Qantas Wallaby sqaud attended and players interacted with the juniors in Community rugby run skills and drill stations. Participants were restricted to 6-16 years of age and as well as the games and activities, autographs and photographs were available with their heros. Fans also got a chance to participate in pass the ball, face painting and horizontal bungee.

Junior Club Training Visit: Eastgardens and South Coogee junior  Rugby clubs won the opportunity to have two of the Qantas Wallabies, George Smith and Rocky Elsom, attend a junior training evening at Latham Park. 

CCC School 1st XV Coaches Session: The following schools had their 1st XV coaches invited in association with Canterbury, to attend the closed Qantas Wallabies training session: St Josephs College, Shore, Newington College, St. Aloysius, SCECGS Redlands, Barker College, The Kings School, Scots College and Knox Grammar.

Primary School Visit:Wycliff Paulu and Tatafu Polota-Nou visited Blacktown North Public School. Channel 9 accompanied the players who spoke to students and staff, played some activities and games and presented the school with a signed ball to talk to the student.

EdRugby Values Forum: hosted by The Kings School , Parramatta, with 360 students and teachers joining Qantas Wallaby captain Stirling Mortlock and newcomer Dean Mumm at their old school.

  

Test Match Opportunities June 22nd Australia A v Tonga

Flag Bearer:  Andrew Pickworth from Wycliffe Christia School and David Lolohea from The Hills Sports High, won the EdRugby opportunity to enter the field of play carrying the Team National flags to stand next to the Team Captains for the National Anthems.

Walla and Mini Matches: Two teams played in Walla and Mini matches prior to the Test match. The game of Walla was played between Wollondilly U8's and Wahroonga U7's, and the game of Mini was played by Terrigal U9's and Wakehurst U8's

Ball Boys: Tom O'Connor, Connor O'Shea, Zac Wheeler, Brenton Mooney and Lachlan Mount

Test Match Opportunities June 28th Qantas Wallabies v France

Junior Wallaby: Redfiled Under 10, Jesse Touma, featured as the Junior Wallaby.  Jesse won the opportunity to enter the field of play and place the match ball on half way line prior to the teams entry to the field. 

Guard of Honour:  Hawkesbury U9 and Burraneer U11 teams acted as the Guard of Honour The players from each team formed a guard of honour for both the Qantas Wallabies & France.

Walla and Mini Matches: Two teams played in Walla and Mini matches prior to the Test match. The game of Walla was played between Macquarie Emus U7's and Harbord U6's, and the game of Mini was played by Dubbo U9's and Dundas Valley U8's.

Ball Boys: Brenton Mooney, Lachlan Anderson, Reece Hodge, Max Dodd and Greg Antionades

 

Test Match Opportunities July 6th Australia A v NZ Maori

Flag Bearer:  Natalie Piggott from Asquith Girls High School and Moko Wainohu from Randwick Boys High School, won the EdRugby opportunity to enter the field of play carrying the Team National flags to stand next to the Team Captains for the National Anthems.

Walla and Mini Matches: Two teams played in Walla and Mini matches prior to the Test match. The game of Walla was played between Inverell U7's and Sylvania U6's, and the game of Mini was played by Camden U9's and Wests U8's

Ball Boys: Jake Owen, Alexander Brand, Jackson Figueiras, Nathan Williamson and Joshua Anderson

Test Week Opportunites July 21st - July 26th

A wide range of activities were conducted during the week leading into the All Blacks, Bledisloe Cup, Test match including the Qantas Wallabies School Session and level 3 Coaches session with Robbie Deans, Junior Club Training Visit and Bledisloe Cup Roadshow.

School Session: The following schools attended the closed Qantas Wallabies training session: Sydney High, Trinity Grammar School, Waverley College, Oakhill College, St. Patricks College,St. Pauls Manly, St. Gregorys & SCECGS Redlands.  In addition, each school selected one player to participate in the training session!

Level 3 Coaches Session: 20 level 3 coaches from NSW and ACT were invited in to attend the closed Qantas Wallabies training session on Tuesday 22nd July including a special Q & A with the Austrailan coaches Robbie Deans and Jim Williams.

Junior Club Training Visit: Mosman Junior Rugby club won the opportunity to have two of the Qantas Wallabies, Phil Waugh and Dean Mumm, attend a junior training evening at Balmoral oval. 

 

Junior Club & Primary School Visits: As part of the annual Bledisloe Cup roadshow five junior Rugby clubs - Wahroonga, Mosman, Chatswood, Newport and Seaforth-Balgowlah hosted a special training evening at their home grounds. In addition eleven Primary schools -  Wideview, Hornsby Heights, Wahroonga, Willoughby, St.Thomas', Cromer, Elanora Heights, Newport, Harbord, Manly West and Seaforth held a roadshow clinic at their school.  As well as the Bledisloe Cup the Tri Nations Trophy was in attendance. Players, parents, teachers and coaches got a chance to participate in practical sessions as well as learn some history about the prestigous trophies. There were photo opportiunities and guest appearances by Wally the mascot. We also visited Chatswood Oval for the Premier Rugby match between Gordon and Warringah, to launch the roadshow. All in all we saw some 1,200 primary school children and 1,700 junior Rugby players.

 

Test Match Opportunities July 26th Qantas Wallabies v NZ All Blacks

 

Junior Wallaby: Canberra Royals Under 9, Bertie Barker, featured as the Junior Wallaby.  Bertie won the opportunity to enter the field of play and place the match ball on half way line prior to the teams entry to the field. 

Flag Bearer:  Tim Donlan the captain of Sydney Juniors U16's and Tom Connor the captain of NSW Country U16's were selected to enter the field of play carrying the Team National flags to stand next to the Team Captains for the National Anthems.

Guard of Honour:  Clovelly Reds U9 and Manly U8 teams acted as the Guard of Honour The players from each team formed a guard of honour for both the Qantas Wallabies & NZ All Blacks.

Walla and Mini Matches: Two teams played in Walla and Mini matches prior to the Test match. The game of Walla was played between Shoalhaven U8's and Chatswood U7's, and the game of Mini was played by Gunnedah U10's and St. Aloysius U10's.

Ball Boys: Nick O'Connor, Joshua Anderson, Christopher Theol, Lachlan Mount and Brandon Quinn.

Bledisloe Cup relay: Six players representing juniors, schools and club Rugby carried the Bledisloe Cup as part of a relay on the field prior to the teams entry. These players were from juniors Jacob Hardie, Narabeen Tigers U8's and Adam Garson, Dorrigo U12's; from schools Ryan McDermott, Wagga Wagga High School and Joshua Grogan, Marist College Canberra; from Sydney premier club Rugby Craig Vandernagel, Southern Districts and Phil Hoult, Eastern Suburbs.
