About Steve:

Michael has been coaching continuously now for six years, four of which he has coached two teams. Michael’s qualifications come in 2 forms. Firstly a love of Rugby, and secondly a level 1 coaching course.
 
"I continually go to coaching seminars which have given me the knowledge and confidence to teach the kids skills that they need. Talking with other coaches and the NSW rugby guys is invaluable".

Michael’s father coached him all the way through junior rugby with Newport.
"My boys always wanted to play so I thought it would be a good tradition to keep going".

Michael says that the small achievements that the kids make and the enjoyment that they get out of playing rugby is the reason why he coaches.

"Seeing the faces on the kids when they realise they can tackle or they score their first try, and watching their confidence and self esteem grow through Rugby is always a highlight".
