Disability Sport Assistance program
As Australian Rugby Union has recently commited to the Sports CONNECT program, we encourage Clubs and Unions to open their doors to members of the community with disabilities. There are a number of programs around the country which can assist with this aim.
New South Wales Sport and Recreation has the Disability Sport Assistance Program (DSAP), thats aim is to improve opportunities for people with a disability to participate in sport and physical activity.
The primary focus of the program is on increasing regular and on-going participation opportunities for people with a disability by supporting community based organisations with the capacity to provide such opportunities.
Who is eligible apply?
NSW incorporated, community based not-for-profit organisations that have the capacity to deliver sport and physical activity services for people with a disability.
Projects that are eligible are those that:
Provide new and sustainable opportunities for people with a disability to participate in regular and ongoing sport and/or physical activity. Please note that projects that link people with disability to existing community based activities will be well regarded
Demonstrate an ongoing sustainable increase in participation numbers for people with a disability in sport and physical activity.
Grants between $2,000 and $20,000 will be available annually.
