The welfare and development pathway of players is the foremost concern across all ARU courses.
Therefore the ARU Continues to develop courses that;
- Recognises the need for more practical and flexible application of coaching programs
- Align player, competition and development pathways across education
- Provides best practice coach development standards, principles and priorities
- Identifies long term player development and its role in developing athletes
The Australian Rugby Union in consultation with the Australian Sports Commission, International Rugby Board and Member Unions has identified a need for flexible framework in delivery and accessibility of courses.
Courses within the Australia Rugby Coach Development Framework are part of the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) as administered by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
On completion of various requirements(e.g. course attendance, competency based assessment, law exam, coaching assessment by an ARU trained assessor, etc.) coaches can achieve Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 coach accreditation.
