Planning
Planning is an essential element in ensuring your Rugby club enjoys continuing success. This section provides a framework and tools which clubs can utilise in developing and implementing their respective planning documents.
Planning is a key function required for effective organisational governance. As the old saying goes, 'failing to plan means planning to fail' and unfortunately this is why many sporting clubs find themselves in difficulties. Put simply, planning is like developing a road map for the organisation; it helps the club to see where it is going and how it is going to get there.
A detailed planning process assists in clarifying your Rugby club's plans and ensures that key leaders are all "on the same page". The way in which your club members and committee go through the planning process and the issues that arise in that process are more important than simply being able to hold up a few typewritten pages and say your Rugby club has a strategic plan.
This section provides a framework for the development and implementation of strategic, operational, risk management and succession plans to support the long-term viability of the club.
