Insurance - ARU Funded Deductible

This plan is structured on a different basis to conventional insurance. To obtain cost savings and other future advantages, the ARU has arranged for a proportion of the Sports Injury insurance to be covered under a self-insurance type fund.

This fund (known as the ARU Funded Deductible) is administered by QBE Insurance Australia Limited (subject to ASIC approval) and pays all claims (other than Public and Products Liability and Professional Indemnity) up to a specified limit. For claims over the specified limit Excess Insurance has been effected with QBE Insurance. The combination of the ARU Funded Deductible and the Excess Insurance provides a seamless coverage. QBE administer the ARU Funded Deductible claims and these are paid on exactly the same basis as the insurance policy.
