The Australian Rugby Union today announced BMW Australia as the Official Vehicle partner of the Qantas Wallabies, effective 1 April 2015.
The two-year deal, which runs until the end of 2016, will see the BMW brand mark on the Gilbert test match Rugby balls in all matches involving the Qantas Wallabies in Australia. The BMW logo will also appear on the Qantas Wallabies team shorts. In addition, BMW Australia will have the opportunity to offer its dealer network a range of money-can't-buy owner experiences and hospitality options.
BMW already enjoys a healthy association with the game globally having enjoyed a strong relationship with the English Rugby Football Union as Official Vehicle Partner since 2012. BMW is also a national team partner of South Africa and France.
Australian Rugby Union CEO Bill Pulver said: "We are thrilled to welcome a brand with the global reputation of BMW as a valued partner of the ARU. It’s great to have two iconic brands such as the Wallabies and BMW connected.
“It’s a very exciting period for the Qantas Wallabies with The Rugby Championship and 2015 Rugby World Cup on the horizon, and we are looking forward to working with BMW as they activate their partnership with us."
BMW Group Australia’s General Manager, Marketing, Stuart Jaffray, said: “BMW Australia’s partnership with the Wallabies cements our position as a true automotive partner of the sport, now in four countries around the world.”
“And the synergy between the two organisations is fantastic - combining passion and performance both on and off the field, with two of Australia’s most prominent brands.”
