Qantas Wallabies playmakers Nic White and Matt Toomua will today take the students of Bondi Public School through their paces as part of a special training session for National Rugby Week.

This unique opportunity is being run at First Fleet Park this afternoon and will see the players take the Bondi Public School students through a range of Rugby activities just two days out from the Qantas Wallabies opening Bledisloe Cup clash of 2014.

The annual National Rugby Week initiative has been revamped this year. There are currently more than 120,000 students across the country learning about all things Rugby, including the new, fun and fast-paced game of Non-Contact Sevens.

Toomua said he was looking forward to the opportunity.

“Getting to know our young fans is one of the best parts of the job and Nic and I are really looking forward to meeting the students of Bondi Public School later today,” Toomua said.

“National Rugby Week is a really important initiative for introducing kids to our code and I’m sure everyone will take a lot away from their experience.”

In 2014, National Rugby Week has replaced “Walla Rugby Week” and will run annually in the lead-up to the Bledisloe Cup opener in Sydney.

All schools will have the opportunity to win a visit from National Rugby Week Program Ambassador, Qantas Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie, with additional prizes on offer including signed balls and Rugby kits.

First Fleet Park, where today’s training session will be run, is being transformed into “Bledisloe Bay” to create a hub of excitement in the lead up to the Bledisloe Cup. From 10:00am to 6:00pm, there will be a range of Rugby activities on offer, including a chance to:

- Meet select members of the Qantas Wallabies from 5:00pm

- Have your photo taken with the famous Bledisloe Cup trophy or a giant inflatable trophy

- Try out our horizontal bungee - fun for all ages

- Enjoy some famous Bledisloe Cup sporting moments with our historical display

- Show off your Rugby and sporting skills
