The Western Force's World Series Rugby will be broadcast on Channel 7 and FOX SPORTS, the club announced on Thursday night.

Until their confirmation, broadcast details for the new competition were unclear, but it appears it will be a big win for WA fans.

Matches will be broadcast live on 7TWO in Western Australia, while FOX SPORTS will screen the match live on 507 FOX SPORTS More.

Friday's game will be shown on delay in Sydney and Brisbane on 7MATE and will screen nationally again at 1pm local, 3pm AEST on Saturday.

It's a big coup for the sport, with rugby rarely live on free-to-air TV, even on secondary channels, with the Shute Shield the only regularly live rugby on Channel Seven in Sydney.

Force commercial manager Brad Paatsch said he hoped the deal opened rugby up to a new set of fans.

"This deal will not only provide exposure to a bold, new and exciting series it will also place the great game of rugby in front of thousands of potential new supporters," he said.

"One of World Series Rugby’s major drivers is bringing this game to a new audience throughout our region and we are absolutely delighted Channel Seven is helping us achieve this mission.”

The Western Force takes on the Fiji Warriors on Friday night, kicking off at 6:30pm local, 8:30pm AEST, LIVE on FOX SPORTS and on 7TWO in WA.
